In recent years, the Czech Republic has become the world's top cycle touring destination.

Despite the fact that cycling cycling is not popular in Prague, most of the rest of the country is suitable for biking, the landscape, with its forests, ponds, small villages (Tabor, Litomerice, Slavonice etc), castles (for ex. Pernstejn in South Moravia) etc..., is beautiful. You will see untouched countryside with peaceful fields, you will ride through aromatic meadows, and you will taste fine Moravian wines and excellent Czech beers. You can stop and listen to concerts and festivals of high quality specially throughout the summer month.

Czech countrysideAs Southern Bohemia is flat it is a good region for cycling, even for those who do not cycle during the year and there are many castle to visit notably, the water castle Cervena Lhota and the castle in the town Jindrichuv Hradec. We also recommend you to go to the Pilgrimage Church of St. John of Nepomuk at Zelena Hora and to the small town, Cesky Krumlov, which are both in the UNESCO world heritage list.

The border with Germany is pretty hilly, and the rest of the country is more or less varied.  The north border with Poland has the highest mountain range with some mountain bike tracks.
